Infants and Toddlers- Preschool and Kindergarten
"Where learning comes alive"
One Year Old Program
Welcome to the One Year Old Toddler Program at FMPS. This program will support your child's growth by providing an interactive setting where language skills expand rapidly. We are proud of our One Year Old room, and the fine care that each child entrusted to our program receives.
Ms.Igoise is dedicated to providing quality and consistent care for our toddlers. She provides a loving and nurturing environment, and has been hand-selected for her genuine love for toddlers and her experience in caring for them. To ensure a smooth transition from home to our program and back home again, our teachers and assistant teachers will communicate with you on an individual basis.
The Polar Bears and Penguins-Toddler/Ones Room The Toddler room at FMPS is a fun and cheerful place for toddlers to spend their day. A warm and safe environment and positive interactions foster a toddler's sense of trust and self-esteem. Classroom space and materials are organized to support the toddler's need to physically explore, to discover, and to be independent. Toddlers are encouraged to participate in daily routines to develop self-help skills and to feel good about themselves. Activities provide repeated opportunities with sensory experiences that help strengthen and develop large and small muscles, hand-eye coordination and promote thinking and communication skills. Teachers reinforce positive behaviors, set limits, and are consistently available to support the toddler's conflicting need for independence and comfort.
Sanitation
At FMPS we are very aware of the importance of a safe and sanitary environment for our children. Each toy is sanitized daily, and once a toy goes into a child's mouth, it is sanitized before another child uses it. Our changing table is sanitized after each use, and we practice good hand washing techniques. Potty training is an important part of a toddler's growing process. We will meet this need for your child at the appropriate time. You will find our toddler room is always clean and well organized. Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement Parents are always welcome at FMPS. You will findour Teachers to be supportive of parents, and encourage their involvement. We strive for consistency between Child Care and Home Care practices, and follow through on all parent requests. Please feel comfortable at any time to share information with our teachers about your child's development, or any concerns you may have. We welcome suggestions on how we can better care for child. Each day we prepare an informative report for your review, listing all information regarding feeding, napping, diapering, and what your child especially enjoyed that day. These have proven very helpful to our families. Outdoor Play
At FMPS we have a special play yard just for our infants and toddlers. This is equipped with age appropriate climbers, swings, and ride-on toys that will enhance your child's large motor development and provide for many fun hours of outdoor explorations. The Toddler Program The Toddler program is expanded to include curriculum areas of art, science, cooking, dramatic play, manipulative activities, language, large motor and music and movement. The planned activities are designed to foster feelings of autonomy and a positive self-concept. Our toddlers enjoy practicing their self-help skills as they gain feelings of independence and control over their environment. Language is developing rapidly at this stage, and opportunities abound for enrichment in this area.Toddlers move up to our 2's preschool program with a sense of excitement about learning, and the foundations for a successful preschool experience! Thank you for considering FMPS for your toddler. Please stop by for a tour any time! Our dedicated staff, home like class setting.
